Baby Boy Shower

Y'all. 

My girl friends know how to throw a party...the most beautiful baby shower for this baby boy and I. 

My amazing family and sweet friends went above and beyond to be there to celebrate this bundle of joy that is currently wiggling from the breakfast danish I just ate. 

Our family photographer/neighbor/and good friend, Marshal McIntosh, even showed up before the shower began to photograph all the beautiful hard work my girls created, and to get some group shots before the party started. 

My besties always peg me for the "crafty-creative" of the group, but seriously, THEY completely stepped into their own creativity and incredible talents and totally out did themselves. 

Everything was so gorgeous, I just wanted to share the photos here. 

The green glasses are 1970's vintage from my mom and dad's wedding china.  My mom just recently renovated her kitchen and decided to finally remove them from her china cabinet.  She asked if I wanted them and I just knew immediately that they would work perfectly for the shower.

Has it been almost 9 months?

YUP.

Almost.

My incredibly talented friend and neighbor, Marshal McIntosh, was so gracious and kind to take our maternity photos just a couple weeks ago after church. 

So obviously, this is what has been occupying my time and more realistically, my ENERGY. 

Being pregnant at 36 (almost 37) feels a lot different (energy-wise) than being 31, like when I was pregnant with Ellis.  But I will admit that this pregnancy seems like it has flown by.  I seriously feel like I took a long nap and woke up with a few days short of five weeks to go.  And as much as I am ready to meet his little boy earth-side, I am definitely trying to soak in all the movements he makes and just the feeling of having him so near me for these last few weeks.  I'm not sure what the future holds for our little family; if we will have another child at some point, so I am really trying to embrace this season of sharing my body.
