Interrupting my 34th List topics, for a couple of special moments we've had this week.
I taught her her very first knock-knock joke yesterday.
It's an oldie, but goodie for this time of year - and now will forever be my favorite because it will be tied to this memory.
The conversation went like this:
Me: Knock-Knock. Now say "who's there?!"
Ellis: Who's they-aaaaah?!
Me: Boo! Now say, "Boo Who?!"
Ellis: Booooo Who-aaah!
Me: Why are you crying?!
Both: belly laughs
REPEAT.
I then taught her how to tell the joke and she loved that too!
Teaching her things like this, gosh, just makes my heart flutter.
I've said it before and I know I will say it again at many different times/ages, but 2 years old is so incredibly fun.
This photo was taken this past Sunday. I had a photo session with a lovely family and upon arriving home afterwards, she asked, "Mommy, you take pic-chas today?" And I responded by telling her that yes, I did. I took pictures of a friend's family and her boys. She replied, "Mommy, you take my pic-cha, too?!"
And just like that, she actually looked at the camera, smiled a normal beautiful take-my-breath-away smile. Click. Totally NOT the norm of her attitude when I pull out my big camera. But on this day, she humored me.
I am excited to watch her grow, but if I could bottle this season of her up and keep it forever this age, I would do that too.
