She is ten months.
love. her. so.
at ten months, our snappy girl:
Sweet butter bean finally has a tooth!!! Her front left tooth, and it’s so damn cute. Her right front tooth is going to push through any day now, and she will have a matching pair. All she wanted for Christmas was her two front teeth - and Santa delivered ;)
this girl is always busy. She is busy busy and plays so hard, and then plays some more.
Waves like a charm. To everyone.
Crawls up Henry’s steps to our bed. This girl is a dare devil - and quick at that, so we can not take our eyes off her for a second!
Has learned how to turn over on her belly when being held in a chair and wiggle her way until her feet hit the ground. She also does this when she’s on our bed, as well. We assist her of course, but again, this girl has no fear.
Talks so much with her hands. Gibberish, of course, but uses hand gestures and it’s so stinking cute.
I cannot say that she quite understood everything going on, but she thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by family and entertaining them. Opening presents would have taken more than one day for her, so Adam and I got to do a lot of opening :) We had Christmas Eve dinner with my dad, she was delightful. We had Christmas morning at my mom’s home, she didn’t even fuss once. She took a super long nap after all the morning excitement, and then geared up to spend the rest of the day at my grandparents home. She was absolutely a dream child...Adam and I were so delighted and surprised at how well she did.
And to round out her first Christmas, she was flat OUT when we arrived home from the short drive from my grandparents to our home. Carried her inside still asleep, so I had to rock her and relish in some Christmas night snuggles.
Loves to play with things like egg crates, boxes, paper plates, and my makeup basket. She loves toys, too, but unconventional toys make this girl happy and occupied, just the same.
Grabs any phone she can and puts it right up to her mouth to say Hello!
Still loves bath time.
Is finally picking small things up off the floor and hands it to us instead of putting it straight in her mouth - most of the time. I’d like to try to train her to put it in the trash can, but I might be pressing my luck.
Except books :)
She loves to eat anything we eat. I let her eat most things just cut up in small bits. She has also learned that if she doesn’t like it, she can throw it over board for Henry. Sneaky little toots. Her favorites lately are Ritz crackers and cheddar cheese.
I also catch her giving me the craziest looks, like this one, and I cannot help but laugh...I have no idea where she gets this from?!?!...
Enjoys going places and stays in a great mood when we are out and about...I know she might not always be like this, so I am thankful she is now.
Prefers to be rocked to sleep at night - and sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night, but has done so well sleeping in her own bed.
Had to have the mattress in her bed lowered down this week...our little dare devil figured out how to wiggle the latch open.
This is still her tell. Blanket in one hand up to her nose, and fingers in her mouth. Still the sweetest thing.
Watches everything. She is very observant and doesn’t miss a thing.
I swear she says Henry and also “bubba” when talking to Hen.
Sings to herself when she wakes up some mornings.
Says DaDa a LOT. And Daddy! Her face lights up when she sees him each afternoon.
Still loves playing in her sock drawer...She will take them out one by one until the floor in her room is full of "sockies."
This is how she crawls. I finally captured it with my big camera...I figured since she had already wiggled herself off the chair, I should get her crawl too. We think she crawls like this because it doesn't hurt her knees as much on the hardwood. In this photo, she was done taking photos and ready for mama to pick her up...hence the look on her face :)
This baby girl is pure joy. Joy incarnate.
It's impossible to be in a bad mood around her. She radiates good feelings. Even when she is fussy because her teeth are bothering her, or she's tired, or she just splashed her hand in Henry's bowl (again), she makes me smile and feel so overwhelmed with happiness and love. I truly struggle sometimes with trying to get things done, and being right there with her. I can honestly say, though, when this sweet baby pulls up on my pant leg and gives me a good hug, I stop what ever it is I am doing and sit down on the floor with her. She gives the best hugs, and I just cannot pass any of them up.
My heart broken at the thought of planning her first birthday soon - how did this happen? But my heart is also so damn full.
She is our joy.
