Before school started back I was determined to get 2 things done for our butterbean: curtains for the nursery, and a chevron quilt. With just two weeks left of summer vacation, started another chevron quilt and did not like it. I put it aside and decided to give it another go. And I am so glad I did.
Since it was too early to choose gender specific fabric, I went with these brights that are all pretty neutral brights (does that make sense?!). We want the nursery to have lots of bright colors to offset the white walls. Very different for me (I usually love color on the walls), but for some reason I love the look of white walls with bright colors for butterbean's nursery.
This baby bed was a hand-me-down from my grandparents that I will cherish and love so much because it has so much history. We will keep this bed in our bedroom and other rooms of the house, I'm sure (since it's on wheels!).
The back of the quilt is pretty simple. Just two blocks of pattern, but I love that you can see the chevron quilting because of the stitching.
An added bonus: I was able to get some burp towels sewn with the left over fabric scraps from the quilt before I went back to school. I know four will not be enough to even get us through a week, but it's a start, right?!
Thanks for dropping by :)
