I've been experimenting with digital "water coloring" today. I scanned in my pen drawing to Photoshop, then used the the Bamboo Tablet to add color. It's just a little ironic that Adam gave me my Bamboo tablet two years ago for Valentines Day, and here it is almost Valentines day again, and I'm actually using it for more than just writing my name and drawing smiley faces. no joke.
Side note: And I hear my mom's voice in my head saying, "In her own time. She will do it in her own time." Something she has always said about it since my birth day.
I drew Pineapple Sundays in August 2011. School had just started back and I was taking pineapple in my lunch each day. Adam and I would buy a whole pineapple and take turns cutting it up on Sunday to get ready for the week.
On this particular Sunday Adam did the cutting, and I did some drawing. I loved the layers of the cut off pineapple top and decided to use it as a drawing exercise. Sketching in pencil first, and then going back over it with Sigma Micron Pens.
Today, I added color with the Bamboo tablet using a Photoshop CS3 brush with lowered opacity and flow.
I'm not sure which one I like more, but I do like that I am super excited use my Bamboo for more digital water coloring and feel inspired to draw more...something I try to convince my students that they must do everyday if they want to get better. Practice what I preach.
Thanks for dropping by :)
