So proud...right up until the moment I did this

But really, this is why I make desserts at all.  Getting to eat the "extras" when I'm done.  :)

This was a southern Banana Pudding style dessert, but instead of using vanilla wafers, I used Nutter Butter cookies.  Truly, a sinfully delicious treat. You should try it!

I forgot to say thanks yesterday for the sweet  comments on the baby/lap quilts!
I am currently working on my 3rd.  Started Saturday, but didn't get the binding finished... other projects had priority. 
But, yes, the quilts are machine quilted... there's NO way I would even attempt trying to sew all those lines by hand! LOL!

ISSUES...

My sister and I have gotten quite a few laughs from this sketch from SNL.
I know it was a re-run, but we watched it for the first time last Saturday.
I just love the ways he says Issues "ISSHA'S" and I'm not sure about you, but "Permples?!?!?!"

Just wanted to share!

It's been a hectic transition back from Spring Break.  I came back to a super sized list of things to do to get ready for prom.  I have the lovely duty of being a prom sponsor this year...
I think it might cause me to get permples on my face.
I hope not.
Then I really will have isssha's.

I finished this one on Tuesday...I started sewing the squares together on Monday afternoon.
Meaning, that these quilts are super easy and fast to complete!
These prints are from Moda fabric.  The line is called Pumpkins Gone Wild.  Cute, huh?!  I have coveted these fabrics at our quilt store for some time now.  I just love the bright colors and fallish theme.
Not really a baby quilt, but will be super cute thrown over the couch during the fall months, right?!

I am now about to cut up some more of that Swell fabric for actual baby quilts to give to friends that are preggers right now... there seems to be something in the water around here.
Thank goodness these go fast!

Go Green!

I went green yesterday...

My wonderful Mother-in-Law called yesterday with the yummiest recipe for green cupcakes made from scratch.  I made some yesterday for dinner.  From the picture you really can't see that the cake batter is green too - it looked just like mint chocolate chip ice cream.  So good.

Today is house cleaning day and I am a serious procrastinator when it comes to getting started.  ugh ugh ugh.  Although....
 I did cut my finger yesterday while slicing my English muffin in half...would that, could that be a good enough excuse to get out of cleaning?!
Yeah, I guess not.

i love my Mama

She gave me this yesterday:

Last week during our Wednesday dinner at my grandparents house, I mentioned that I had been searching ebay for an old, but still working, typewriter.  She immediately told me that she had one that I was welcome to.  It was put up in the closet from her working days.  By Sunday, she had it pulled down for me and ready to go with new tape! 
My Mama is really the best grandma.  Not because she makes us dinner or gives us great gifts, but because she is always willing to help us in anyway possible.  She can make you feel better just by the touch of her hand and sound of her voice.  She is constantly praying for us, and wanting the best for us.  I love her so so much. 

So day one of my Spring break has been pretty fun.  I slept in, stayed in p.j's till Oprah came on, and started on a new quilt using some fun bright colored fabric.  I can't wait to use this cool typewriter on some layouts tomorrow... because tomorrow, I will scrap!

new specs

Ordered them a week ago, and started wearing them last night.  I've had several pairs of glasses that I LOVE at the store, but then get home and feel silly wearing them.
Still not completely sure about these, but I'm giving them a try.

I ordered them from Wal-Mart Optical... they are Baby Phat and have a small row of rhinestones on the sides... I'm worried it may be too much bling.  LOL!

From here, it's pretty boring...

So far my day has been like this:
Up by 7 and @ the gym by 8.
Train till 9
Body Combat (was awesomely fun!) till 10
Body Pump (barely made it) till 11
Fabric store to buy more *cute* fabric
Quick trip to Walmart
Home, shower, hair and makeup
Lay back down and veg out
Oh, yes...
I love the feeling of being on Spring Break.

So yeah, I'm still in bed.

Oh Facebook...

How i Love thee. Thanks to an old friend from high school posting this on Facebook, I have had the best afternoon ever. I have not had a belly ache from laughing in a long time.





Maybe it's because he's singing about breakfast - my favorite meal. or maybe it's because they memorized all the words... or could it be the lovely hair style that she is wearing.... I nearly peed my pants. Thank you Facebook. Oh, how I love you.

Thursday, Thursday.

Oh why can't it be Friday?!
This feels like THE longest week ever.
I know it's because inside I am a teenager and absolutely cannot wait for spring break next week.
I dare say that I am 10 times more anxious than my students.
Looking forward to doing a little spring cleaning, a lot of scrapbooking, and some more sewing... I already have the fabric for my next "inspired by Susan W." quilt, and of course, totally looking to spend time with this guy.
