Yup...Good as new!

One cycle through the ol' dishwasher, and they were as good as new.

These are what I want to make for the reception tables.  Along with the centerpieces, I think they will look soverycute!

The ribbon around these is from my stash, but I will most likely have them all matching in gingham.

So worth the $10.

Oh, and speaking of wedding plans...

We did decide on a photographer for the wedding.  I am so very ecstatic that he is going to be there throughout our wedding day.  His photojournalistic style is amazing.  His personality - even better.  One minute into our meeting with him, I think Adam and I knew for sure that we wanted him.

Happiness is...

 

• going to the flea market on a whim, and finding these and 2 more boxes full of mason jars - for only $10!  I have been wanting them for some wedding decorations for a long time. Just a bit dusty and dirty, but one trip through the dish washer and they will be good as new!!!
• finding a stash of scrapbook magazines from CHA first thing this morning.
• having a great run this morning.
• arguing with Adam last night but waking up laughing this morning.
• trying on a bikini in a dept. store for the first time since winter - and loving the way it looks.
• getting to the counter to pay for my bikini and it being an extra 25% off.
• the warm warm warm weather today after a week of chilly sucky weather.
• making new wonderful friends - all thanks to this hobby of mine.
• spending time with the girls shopping this afternoon.
• dinner plans with friends - us girls decided to wear skirts!
• just plain enjoying a saturday
• simply enjoying life.

So hard to keep such a good secret.

This makes me sooo freaking happy! 

I think I will be riding this high for a LONG time!!!

lazy day & greasy hair.

Currently, it is three in the afternoon and I have yet to take a shower, get dressed or do much of anything.

I took a nap a little while ago - not cause I was sleepy, just for the sake of loving naps. 

Ah, yes.  My Spring Break is nearing to an end.  And I, the 24 year old student, has the i-don't-wanna-go-back-to-school-blues.  :0)  Okay, not really blues, but I am really trying to get the most out of my relaxation week.  So I am doing absolutely nothing today.  I don't smell, I promise - my hair just looks like a dropped a bottle of Wesson oil on it - that's all. OOOOeeuuuuuu, yuck. 

Me on my day of nothingness. I'd post a photo, but I don't wanna scare the few friends that i have away!  Ha.  I will probably venture into the kitchen to grab a Girl Scout cookie or two, glance at my scrap mess, and most likely head back in here to watch mindless t.v. and surf the net. 

Tomorrow, I will be productive. 

Today I will soak up the last 24 hrs. of my lazy day break.

Enjoying my first weekday of Spring Break.

Delighted in the fact that I slept in this morning.

Enjoying the beautiful weather - even though I haven't really made it outside the house ;0)

Spending lots of time in my creative corner of the kitchen. 

Going back and forth from there to the computer.

Editing Vegas photos - and some from yesterday at my grandparents.

Eating my yogurt snack while I type this.

Excited about getting a hair cut tomorrow.

Planning on making  list of wedding to-do stuff with Adam tonight.

I am still alive.

Had an eventful day. 

The kind that springs itself on you - outta the blue. 

One minute you are sitting there, the next it's full-fledged drama. 

Lets just say I had a not-so-good experience that involved 2 students, a long piece of wire, and a neck. 

No one was hurt - THANK GOD!  But it was enough to scare me to death. 

It really happened out of no where. 

My first unpredictable, i-am-not-sure-what-to-do experience. 

Lesson learned.  Never panic.  Stay calm.  Address the situation fast.

As of 10:41 p.m  - I am still alive.

Thank goodness next week is spring break. 

I need the break...and maybe a good drink.

movement

into life.  into the world.  forward motion. for the sake of needing it.  to push myself further creatively. to survive. to make progress. to not just stand still. to be seen. to be heard. to savor each day's experience. 

Movement must occur. 

An everyday occurrence. 

I must move. 

This sculpture captured so much.  I did not expect it to.  I made it as a quick example for my Art One students.  Today we began wire sculpture - which they LOVED.  Go me and Van Huss (my student teacher adviser who has taken me under her wing)!   The student's main objectives were to capture movement and make it speak volumes. 
So last Friday, I began working on my example.  It just took shape.  Unexpectedly.  Wonderfully.  I love it.  Who knew that just a few pieces of wire would capture so much of what is going on with me right now. 

Taking whatever life has in store and running with it.  My hair in the wind.

Rejoicing in the opportunity.

Savoring the moments.

Enjoying the movement.
