Long weekend, but not long enough. It never seems to be long enough, does it?!
Right now, I am currently unwinding with a 'rita and some time well spent on the net. I am coming to you from Adam's laptop, smack dab in the kitchen! I never realized that i could be on the net in the kitchen instead of the bedroom! duh-moment for me.
We spent the majority of the weekend in MO. It was nice, but went by too fast. It always does seem like a blur. Once we get there, it is usually non-stop on the go. Getting to see friends and family, spend time over great meals and such. Friday, immediately after flying in, we met up with Adams best friend from childhood/high school, Matt, and his lovely wife, Angie. She and I get along so well. From the very first time we met, it was like instant friendship. I love that we get along. I love that we get excited to see them every time we go to Kansas City.
The rest of the weekend was spent with family. Loved spending time with Heather, Adam's sister, on Saturday. If you are reading this, Heather: hopefully, we have better luck next time. I know we will. And maybe we will have more time to look and try on dresses! But it was more than fun just spending time together, and getting to laugh and talk.
side-note: she and I drove to Des Moines to look for wedding gowns...only to drive 2 hours to find out that the shop was closed for the holiday.
Then the night was spent, watching the dancing girls of Trenton, dance the night away. Madison (Adam's baby sister), performed fabulously. I hope to post a picture tomorrow. Unfortunately, my lens worked wonderfully as far as getting in close, but the lighting was bad and the shutter speed was too slow, so most of the shots were blurred. My flash was too far away, I guess. Anyway, the pictures looked glamorous either way. She did GREAT!
Sunday, since we had a later flight home, I got to spend about an hour on Scrapsupply.com. It was their one year anniversary, and was celebrated BIG-time style. I hosted the first hour from one to two. It was a lot of fun chatting with fellow scrappers and getting to know more of them. I only wish I could have stuck around for the whole thing.
So we are home now, and we spent today with my family. They all decided to stay till today, since they are in driving distance of home. I took lots of pics of my little cousins, Ryan and Gabby. they are so fun! And they have so much fun playing together. It's just plain fun to watch them interact together. Reminds me of my childhood! the "good ol' days" if you will!
And so, my 'rita is getting low, but that may be a good thing. I don't think I will be having seconds tonight - although, it is good! It's time for me to wash my face and get ready for tomorrow. Maybe work on a layout before bed.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Mine was lovely, yet not long enough. Time well spent with good family, good friends, and good food.
Oh, and a GOOD 'rita for the finale!
